Manual Lymph Drainage
Manual lymphatic drainage is a form of therapy that supports and stimulates the lymph vessel system throughout the body.
The lymphatic system transports about 2 litres of lymph per day. If this transport is disturbed, water accumulates in the tissue. Gentle rhythmic massages stimulate the lymphatic system throughout the body, restoring the disturbed lymphatic drainage.
lymphatic tap
The treatment of lymphedema with manual lymph drainage and compression therapy is increasingly supported by the application of lymphtapes.
The elastic tape relieves the pressure on the connective tissue under the tape: the superficial as well as the deep lymphatic system can work better and increase its transport capacity: the deep lymph from muscles, joints, tendon sheaths and nerves is also optimally discharged.
Manual lymph drainage has an effect on the following complaints
- Primary - hereditary - lymphedema
- Edema (water retention) after surgical interventions
- lipedemas
- pregnancy edemas
- swelling in case of injuries, sprains, bruising
- Diseases of the rheumatic forms, osteoarthritis
- Leg edema in venous insufficiency (e.g. varicose veins, open legs, heavy tired legs etc.)
- Faster regeneration after exercise
- whiplash injury
- Back and neck complaints
- migraine, headaches
- Allergies, such as hay fever
- Supports weight reduction
